Evolve Government Consulting (EGC) is focused on providing services to the public sector in the area of performance, risk, and innovation management.  The resources and experts that EGC brings to the marketplace are steeped in knowledge and engagements within the public sector, with an exceptionally strong understanding of the Canadian federal government.

In government, we believe its better to Evolve than to transform away

People have asked us why we have chosen the name Evolve Government Consulting and why – in these days of “transformation” – we would choose to be only, well, incremental.  The truth is that our experience has shown us that most attempts by government at true transformative initiatives have been exercises that tried to do too much too fast and did not end well.

Our belief is that moving forward with regular, positive momentum in a way that allows large organizations with unique cultures like governments and their departments and agencies to avoid risk traps and scope entanglements leads to greater long-term success for everyone.

We believe that integrating organizational risk andperformance management into the government framework is central to public sector organizations and, ultimately, to the public sector enterprise doing well and achieving the regular, positive momentum desired while avoiding mishaps.

We believe that the culture of innovation should and can be resurrected in government.  EGC is keenly interested and engaged in developing and executing smart, well thought out, and applicable public sector innovation strategies and plans.

What Evolve does

EGC provides expert support, advice, and action on all areas related to performance, risk, and innovation management in the public sector.  We have capabilities and experience in developing, reviewing, monitoring, and auditing all elements associated with performance and risk management including end to end performance programs, conducting strategic performance reviews, designing and implementing balanced scorecards, and development of value creation maps and strategy maps.

Our Innovation Management focus brings a fresh perspective to if and how your organization should bring new innovation forward.  Our ability to clarify the benefits, challenges, and opportunities associated with Web 2.0 and other leading tools integrates well our core competencies around performance and risk management.

Our commitment to the Government of Canada

While it is clear that our focus is on the public sector, EGC has a deeper involvement with the government of Canada.  Our knowledge and understanding starts with the terrain of the GC including:

•  How the central agencies interact with the departments and agencies
•  Strong relationships and references throughout the federal system
•  enhanced knowledge of the frameworks and tools utilized by the GC

Evolve and our associates have a deep understanding of the Management Accountability Framework (MAF), its indicators, elements, and success factors as well as related Treasury Board systems and programs such as the Expenditure Management System (EMS), Program Activity Architecture (PAA), the Management, Resources and Results Structure (MRRS), and the Plans, Priorities, and Performance elements for individual ministries.

Our capabilities and understanding of MAF have led us to build offerings specifically designed to enhance a department or agency’s response, whether you are small or big, on the leading edge or on the trailing edge.
